Three certification programs are available to enable individuals to lead and facilitate the five DR²IVE™ processes.

The three certification programs are as follow:

  • DRIVER (RIDC)
  • Master (RIMC)
  • Partner (RIPC)

DRIVER Certification

DRIVERs help guide their organization “drive” toward victory!   A Roadmaps Institute™ DRIVER Certified (RIDC) professional is capable of facilitating the SCORE Process phases of assessing organizations on the World-Class Management Step Charts.  After the SCORE Process, DRIVERs are instrumental in developing an organization’s first roadmap that provides the organization with a tangible, project based plan for closing the gaps between current state and world-class.  DRIVERs also help organizations develop Enterprise and Alliance Roadmaps through the ROADMAP and ROBUST Processes.

Subject Matter Analysts

DRIVERs are Subject Matter Analysts (SMA).  A SMA has sufficient knowledge breadth to conduct analyses and measure gaps using World-Class Management Step Charts.

DRIVER Certification Requirements
DRIVERs Certification requires a minimum of ninety-six (96) contact hours. Twenty-four (24) contact hours come from required courses. The additional seventy-two (72) contact hours are earned through taking three elective Touring Courses.  A common question is, “How much time will be needed to complete the certification?”   Ninety-six (96) contact hours is equivalent to twelve (12) days of eight hour per day work.  The following table displays an example of course options for DRIVER Certification.  Only ten Touring Course choices are shown to limit the size of the table. The table lists the contact hours and tuition associated with each course.

Master Certification

A Roadmaps Institute™ Master Certified (RIMC) professional serves their organization as a leader who facilitates the development and execution of Robust Roadmaps™. Master Certification is more extensive than the DRIVER Certification and results in experts to guide management on the path to world-class. Once certified, a Master may use the title of RIMC, which is the acronym for Roadmaps Institute™ Master Certified.

Masters Lead DR²IVE™  Processes

Roadmaps Institute™ Masters are capable of leading all five DR²IVE™ processes: DESIGN, SCORE, AUDIT, ROADMAP, and ROBUST.  The following list summarizes how Masters lead in the DR²IVE™ processes.

  • In the DESIGN Process, Masters work with organization champions to help them understand the benefits of collaboration and develop Collaboration Charters for downstream engagements in the SCORE, AUDIT, ROADMAP and ROBUST Processes.
  • In the SCORE Process, Masters lead teams of DRIVERs in conducting assessments using the World-Class Management Step Charts. To lead the efforts, Masters must have a holistic understanding of how departments, divisions, and business units collaborate using DR²IVE™.
  • In the AUDIT Process, Masters work with a Roadmaps Institute™ Certified Partner (RIPC) to verify and validate the results from the SCORE Process.
  • In the ROADMAP Process, Masters lead the efforts to find collaboration opportunities between participating divisions and business units.  From the opportunities an Enterprise Roadmap can be developed.
  • In the ROBUST Process, Masters lead the efforts to find collaboration opportunities between independent enterprises that have chosen to form an alliance.  From the opportunities an Alliance Roadmap can be developed.

Masters are also capable of managing the resulting Organization, Enterprise and Alliance Roadmaps that when integrated together form Robust Roadmaps™.

Masters Define World-Class
Through the development of creative solutions to close an organization’s gaps between current state and world-class, RIMCs are constantly on the “cutting edge” of management capabilities.  Occasionally, Masters discover a new capability or improvement to an existing capability that expands the knowledge of the world.  Through the data accumulation and dissemination procedures built into the DR²IVE™ Processes, Masters are able to integrate their discoveries and evolutions of best practices into the annual revisions of the World-Class Core Competency Management Charts.    Through Master contributions to the bodies of knowledge they help define world-class for each core competency.  The integration of Masters into the greater whole of the Roadmaps Institute™ fulfills part of the mission of the Roadmaps Institute™ to update and build upon current definitions of world-class.

Master Certification Requirements

Master Certification is earned when the participant has completed 280 contact hours.  Contact hours are hours spent in courses or other Roadmap Institute™ programs.  The number of contact hours required is equivalent to thirty-five (35) business days.  DRIVER Certification is usually earned before an individual pursues the Roadmaps Institute™ Master Certification; however, DRIVER Certification is not required to obtain certification as a Master.

An example of a Roadmaps Institute™ Master Certification program selected by one participant is given in the following table.  The participant has selected to learn about the core competencies in the Aerospace and Defense Industries.

Master Certification Points

Points are assigned to each course. Generally, there are 100 possible points associated with 8 contact hours. Points are equivalent to grade points and are used when recognizing individuals for achievement. A Touring Course grade of 70% or higher is considered a passing grade. As an example, a touring course grade of 80% would earn 24 contact hours and 240 of the 300 possible points.   Touring Courses are graded so they can be used for credit at Alliance Institutions. All other courses are pass/fail, based on attendance and submission of diagnostics.

Partner Certification

For a professional to become Roadmaps Institute™ Partner Certified (RIPC), the individual must be accepted to the program and have a Master's degree from an accredited educational institution or six years of management experience. Once the individual has gained Partner Certification, he or she may be included in the Roadmap Institute's Database of Experts to facilitate Roadmaps Institute™ Certification and Tune-Up Courses, consult through Roadmaps Institute™ Expertise Services and register organizations as an independent third party Registrar.

Roles of a Partner
Roadmaps Institute™ Partners are chartered with three roles:

  • Facilitator: Partners facilitate Roadmaps Institute™ processes, courses and programs. Facilitators facilitate all DR²IVE™ Processes: DESIGN, SCORE, AUDIT, ROADMAP, and ROBUST.  Partners facilitate all courses, except Touring Courses, which are reserved for Financial Times Top 100 Business School faculty.  Partners facilitate events, such as: Metro Chapter meetings, forums, workshops, summits, and rallies.
  • Consultant: Partners assist organizations through consulting focused on core competencies, industry segments, and the five DR²IVE™ processes.
  • Registrar:  Partners serve as Registrars to guide organizations through the AUDIT Process and register SCORE Reports with the Roadmaps Institute™.   A Partner serving as a Registrar is considered to be an independent third party.

Roles of a Partner

Partner Profile

The Partner Program is designed for individuals who are not sponsored by an organization, but who are independently pursuing certification to achieve their own life and career goals. A Partner is an independent agent included in the Roadmaps Institute™ database of experts. They may be called upon by the Roadmaps Institute™ to help other organizations in any of the roles of Facilitator, Consultant or Registrar. Substantial revenue can be earned as a Partner through these three roles. Any Partner can earn additional revenue by representing Roadmaps Institute™ products and services. For more information on potential earnings for Partners, contact the Roadmaps Institute™ for a Partner Prospectus.

Becoming a Partner

The Roadmaps Institute™ reserves the title of Roadmaps Institute™ Partner Certified (RIPC) for the “best of the best” applicants.  The minimum requirements are a Master's degree from an accredited educational institution or six years of management experience.   If the minimum requirements are met, a prospect may apply to the program by contacting the Roadmaps Institute™ for an application form or interview. The Roadmaps Institute™ reserves the right to maintain the number of Roadmaps Institute™ Partners at a level that meets the needs of industry in specific regional areas around the globe.

Once a Partner has been admitted to the Partner Program, the prospect must complete 320 contact hours of courses to be considered a full partner.  An example of the courses required is given in the following table.  The Touring Courses listed may be substituted for other Touring Courses covering alternative core competencies.

Partner Certification

Business Associate Program
Due to the length of time and expense that the certification requires, an interim program is provided called the Business Associate Program.  The Business Associate Program is designed to let Partners start helping organizations around the globe as soon as they have committed to the following courses.  Commitment is gained by simply enrolling in the courses to demonstrate to the Roadmaps Institute™ and its constituencies that you are serious about following through to become a Partner.  The minimum courses are listed in the following table.

Partner Renewal

Roadmaps Institute™ Partners will be required to renew their certification on a bi-annual basis to update their knowledge on the latest techniques, tools, processes, and legalities.
